2021 Rosé of Pinot Noir
Dry Rosé
Tasting Notes:
Our 2021 Rosé of Pinot Noir has aromas and flavors of perfectly ripe strawberries, tangerine, thyme, white flowers, and wet rock minerality. The ripe fruit and mineral elements are balanced by clean, refreshing acidity leading to a satisfying finish. A perfect match for the patio!
How we make our Rosé
Our Rosé is made of free-run juice collected from hand-picked Pinot Noir grapes as they move through the processing line and fermented clear in stainless steel tanks until all the sugar has been converted into alcohol. The color is achieved by an addition of 2-3% Pinot Noir, giving us the ability to have consistent color year after year. Finished with a screw-cap for continuously fresh and available wine ready for a day at the beach or a hearty holiday meal.
The 2021 Vintage
The 2021 vintage was an exceptional year. The timing of weather events was key to our success in 2021. We experienced a bit of rainfall during bloom which helped to lower yields by producing some hens and chicks (variable-sized berries). Then a historic heat event happened during late-June which brought worrisome temperatures at a time that luckily did not result in any damage to our grape crop. Growth resumed normally once temperatures cooled with average heat from July through September bringing even ripening to the plentiful small, loose clusters. For Pinot Noirs, expect intense color and flavors bursting out of the glass, while white wines and rosés are fruit-forward with great acidity and balance.
