Tasting Notes

The 2019 Corinne leans heavily in the red-fruit spectrum of red plums, red currants, and cherry cola layered with gorgeous barrel tones of caramel and toasted vanilla bean. Beautiful floral elements of tropical hibiscus, rosehip tea, and warm spices shine through with gravelly tannins and mouthwatering acidity to provide structure and longevity. Only 190 cases were made!

About Corinne Vineyard

Planted in 1989 by the original owners of Rex Hill, it is a truly unique 27-acre vineyard at the intersection of marine and volcanic soils. Tucked into the south side of the Chehalem Mountains, it is a warmer site for Pinot Noir, producing intense fruit, heady aromatics, and lots of structure. We source from two blocks on the estate, Block 2 and Block 8, on the volcanic east-side of the property with the site's signature "Anklebreaker" basalt rocks.

2019 Vintage

After a warm May and a healthy, early fruit-set, the summer ended cool with no threat of the sunburn or hazy, smoky skies seen in recent years. We expected to pick in early September, but weeks of unseasonably cool weather took us by surprise. Rather than rushing to pick too early, we waited patiently for concentrations and sugar levels to rise. Expect wines with a big ripe core of concentrated fruit and a bright, fresh profile.
