Top 100 Best Buys 2025 Wine Enthusiast

Our 2023 Pinot Gris was selected as one of Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s Best Buys: The Top-Rated Wines $20 and Under for 2025.

We’re especially thrilled because this is a global list of great wine values. Our wine was up against the best values from Spain, France, Italy and beyond and our wine was selected as #54 out of the top 100 best buys of the year. We’ve hit the global wine stage and we’re doing it at an affordable price.

How do we make such a great Pinot Gris under $20? It’s all about experience and vineyard sourcing. Our family has grown our own Pinot Gris vines since the mid-1980s and we now grow it on four very different vineyard sites. Pike Road Head Winemaker Heather Perkin has over two decades of experience crafting Pinot Gris wines. We must also thank our vineyard partners for the amazing Pinot Gris fruit they grow for us year after year. Having great relationships with our grower partners so we can source great Pinot Gris fruit from a variety of great sites, allows us to make a balanced wine that’s representative of the northern Willamette Valley.

Here’s a little of what Wine Enthusiast has to say about the price of these wines:

“It’s so eye-opening for readers who might be stuck on the false notion that the more you spend on a bottle automatically makes it better.

Think of it this way: There are five glasses in a bottle of wine. Math tells us that a glass from a bottle on this list, when bought at a store and enjoyed at home, will run you $4 or less. That’s four bucks for a glass of high-quality wine, perhaps from a region you don’t know you love yet. You can’t even get a latte for $4 these days. You probably have $4 in change in that drawer in your house where you keep bits and bobs. Any argument about good wine being cost prohibitive is absolute baloney, and this list proves it.”

“91 POINTS. The pleasing aromatic duo of sweet lemon drop hard candies and earthy post-rain slate patio tiles is a heck of an introduction. The wine’s lemon curd and saline flavors are backlit by refreshingly crisp acidity. With a fresh texture and the bite of that acidity, this Pinot Gris will make a great pairing with fish tacos and sunshine.” — Michael Alberty
